CrimeCenter’s Mike Cunningham Presents at Stony Brook University’s Citizen’s Police Academy

Cunningham provided students with an overview of a career in forensic investigations

Mike Cunningham, operations manager at CrimeCenter Software, the developers of a one-of-a-kind case management software by law enforcement experts for law enforcement officers, recently spoke to students involved with the Citizen’s Police Academy at Stony Brook University.

Cunningham, a retired Detective First Grade for the NYPD, spoke from his personal experiences to provide students with an overview of a career in forensics and crime scene investigation.

“I find it very rewarding to give back to the industry that I was actively apart of for 27 years – and still have a hand-in through my work with CrimeCenter,” said Cunningham. “It’s even better when it is educating students who have the potential to be the future of the law enforcement industry. I am happy to do my part locally to encourage them to follow this career path.”

The Stony Brook University Citizen’s Police Academy is a six-week program designed for members of the campus community to gain insight into the daily functions and responsibilities of law enforcement personnel.
